LEVOIL, a new concept of oil level regulator
LEVOIL®, a brand new concept of oil level regulator to optimize the management of the oil return towards the refrigerating compressors and their protection.
Oil, which ensures the compressors’ lubrication, is essential for their good performance. This oil is present in the refrigerating circuit and can be trapped in the pipes or the heat exchangers so only part of it may be returned to the crankcase of the compressors.
This problem is particularly common on installations which include compressors mounted in parallel and connected to the other equipment (chilled counter, evaporators etc...) by long pipe runs. In such configurations, the oil circuit must be perfectly controlled, both in the oil separation at the discharge of the compressors, and in terms of managing the oil return, separated from the refrigerant, to the compressors.
This is why CARLY offers a wide range of effective components to guarantee an optimal and controlled oil management: TURBOIL® oil separators, HCYR oil receivers, HCYCT differential valves and HCYCTR adjustable valves, HCYF oil filters and filter driers for POE oil, HYDROIL® and finally the brand new LEVOIL® mechanical oil level regulators.
This new generation of oil level regulators is designed to meet the specific requirements for:
- The use of refrigerants such as R410A and R744 (where the maximum working pressure is higher than 40 bar in subcritical mode).
- OEMs and wholesalers who prefer to limit the number of different models they keep in stock.
- Refrigeration contractors who look for products which are easy to select and quick to install.
The original design of this spherical new product allows it:
- To meet the higher pressure requirements - the maximum working pressure for LEVOIL® is 42 bar.
- To optimize the injection of oil by minimizing the foaming phenomena when there is refrigerant dissolved in oil and thus ensuring a very stable oil level.
- To reduce the volume of unused oil trapped at the bottom of the regulator.
CARLY has also designed a new system of needle – valve – float for this product. Being able to operate with a pressure differential from 1 to 4.5 bar, the LEVOIL® oil level regulators operate with a larger range of pressure differential than most of the regulators available on the market, thus making these new oil level regulators particularly effective for cascade refrigerating systems.
The universal flanges allow a direct, quick and easy installation onto the majority of the compressors available on the market. Moreover, the intention to offer an option of many other adaptors will enable the LEVOIL® to be installed on other compressors requiring specific connections.
The input oil connector (3/8’’ SAE) is centered in relation to the 2 flanges. This will enable the user to choose either an assembly on the right side or the left side of the compressors depending on the configuration of the installation. This connector is also slightly tilted back, in many cases making the use of elbow connectors or hoses unnecessary.
The LEVOIL® range includes 3 models:
- LEVOIL 23, a universal version for most compressors in which oil sight glasses are fixed by 3 or 4 screws and the oil can be adjusted at ½ sight glass.
- LEVOIL 33 RE, a universal version with functions of pressure equalization and adjustment of oil situated between ¼ and ¾ sight glass.
- LEVOIL 23 SC, a universal version for most compressors in which the oil sight glasses are fixed by 3 or 4 screws or ¾ NPT threading (e.g. SCROLL) with an adjustment of oil at ½ sight glass.
With its spherical shape and its greater technical qualities, LEVOIL® is a really innovative product.
